Globemaster heavy lift aircraft has brought back 246 Indians
246 Indians were evacuated from the conflict-torn region of Sudan near Khartoum and brought back to India by the Indian Air Force's C-17 Globemaster heavy load aircraft from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The first group of 360 Indians arrived in Delhi on Wednesday via leased jet.
‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Indian Navy zindabad’
Similar to how some Indian nationals are still transported from Port Sudan to Jeddah by navy vessels after being transported there by buses from various internal locations within the northeast African country.Following their escape from the violent Sudan, those who were evacuated chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," "Indian Navy zindabad," and other slogans in the presence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, who was in charge of Operation Kaveri, India's flagship evacuation mission.
Thanked the Indian government and Prime Minister
One of the evacuees, who was travelling to Mumbai aboard the heavy-lift aircraft, hailed the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while describing how their evacuation from the Sudanese capital was accomplished. "Our jawans, who are the real heroes in our story, welcomed us with open arms and excellent service as soon as we arrived in Jeddah. We are now travelling to Mumbai, where we live. Before the C-17 Globemaster departed for India, the evacuee added, "We are all very appreciative of the Prime Minister and the entire country.

The Indians were escorted to the port in Jeddah, where the Union minister greeted them, saying, "It's good to see you coming back from Sudan." On the military transport plane, he also visited with the Indians.
1,700 Indian nationals have been evacuated
According to foreign secretary Vinay Kwatra, more than 1,700 Indian citizens have been evacuated from the war areas in Sudan. The administration is working to get every person out of harm's way as soon as feasible. 3,400 Indian citizens have gotten in touch with the administration, either by signing up online or staying in touch with the embassy in Khartoum.
